Just a quick heads up before I get back into the habit of blogging!
During the month of August the Edinburgh Festival, the Edinburgh Book Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival all take place and a quick perusal of the relevant programmes seems to offer much of Fortean interest.
I will be covering all three of these for Fortean Times and reviews of relevant shows will appear there - I will also try and include some more in depth material here.

Gordon has been a life long Fortean and as a small child he was allowed to use the adults library to read all about Fortean things as he had read, several times, all of the books in the junior section. This was probably the start of a love affair with books. Gordon has the idea of his death being a Fortean event, possibly buried under a pile of collapsed books.
In 1997 Gordon started the Edinburgh Fortean Society which is still going strong and even supplied him with a fiancee. A general Fortean Gordon admits to a weakness for Cryptozoology and EVP (started by a free flexi disc with the first issue of weekly part work "The Unexplained") and a general disinterest in UFOs (although he is quite excited about the recent arrival of an autographed photograph of Erich von Daniken).\
As he is not yet a gentleman of leisure (still waiting for the Lottery numbers to come up) Gordon has to work, and after time as a researcher in mycology and a writer Gordon is currently working as Head of Biology in an Edinburgh High School.
