Literally thousands of shows, and a fair number of them have a Fortean flavour

 

Charles Fort Birthday drinks 6th of August

At 7pm meeting at 39A Marchmont Street, London, a reading and a toast in honour of the man who brought us all to this blog site.  Followed by more drinking at Marquis Cornwallis on Marchmont Street

 

Edinburgh International Book Festival 10th - 26th of August

Authors and illustrators and indeed anyone attached to the book world talking about books.  And againa  number of them are of Fortean interest.

 

Weird Weekend 16- 18 August 2013

Woolsery (woolfardisworthy) Community Hall, Devon, UK

The Weird Weekend is
the largest yearly gathering of mystery animal investigators in the
English-speaking world.The convention attracts speakers and visitors
from all over the world and showcases the findings of investigators into
strange phenomena.

Cryptozoologists,
parapsychologists, Ufologists, and folklorists are descending on
Woolfardisworthy Community Centre to share their findings and insights.
Unlike other events, the Weird Weekend will also include
workshops giving tips to budding paranormal investigators, and even a
programme of special events for children. The Weird Weekend is the only Fortean conference in the world
that is truly a family event, although those veterans of previous
events should be reassured that it is still as anarchically silly as
ever.

The Seance Experiment

will get a chance to experiment with Seance and other equipment.  You
will also take part in various experiments and finally for the last part
of the evening there will be the Seance itself. Let yourself be guided
through this experience and these experiments by a leading gentleman of
knowledge in this field.  Dare you join Jon for this fascinating evening
of experiments and seance?

Jack the Ripper Double Event Seance

“Whitechapel Murders” continue during the “Autumn of Terror” that
gripped London’s East End. Tonight was different – Two bodies were
found, both still warm. Not only this but a message from the Ripper, and
a piece of one victim’s apron was also discovered in the heart of the
area.

sitters will try to connect with the Spirits of the area to discover
